Experience Tennessee Shines.

Tennessee Shines showcases music from the Appalachian foothills to the Mississippi Delta and beyond, by nationally recognized artists and emerging artists who reflect our region’s varied artistic culture. Hosted by Grammy-winning, singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale, Tennessee Shines broadcasts live from the Bijou Theatre on the last Wednesday of every month. It features four to six performers.

Tennessee shines brings together the rich musical history of Knoxville, the unmatched atmosphere of the Bijou Theatre, internationally acclaimed radio station WDVX, and the reputation of concert producers AC Entertainment, whose credits include the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

How did Tennessee Shines start? In October 2007, WDVX celebrated it 10th anniversary with a standing room only live-broadcast concert at the Bijou. Jim Lauderdale hosted the show, which featured The Red Stick Ramblers and The Hackensaw Boys, plus Knoxville-based performers The Everybodyfields, Robinella, and Brent Thompson’s Wandering Circus. The sold-out show, which received rave reviews from members of the live audience and radio listeners, served as the pilot for Tennessee Shines.
