New Backstage Video with R.B. Morris

We hope you joined us in the live audience or tuned in via WDVX for last week’s amazing edition of Tennessee Shines! One of the most varied line-ups we’ve witnessed, the show brought together rock by The Bottle Rockets, blues by Ruthie Foster, pensive songs by Sarah Siskind, some old-time care of The Carpetbag Theatre, and American roots poetry by R.B. Morris. Knoxville native Morris was joined on stage by guitarist Kenny Vaughn, one of Nashville’s most in-demand sidemen, and the result was one of the band’s most energetic sets in recent memory. Morris went solo and acoustic for our Backstage: Tennessee Shines video feature, performing “That’s How Every Empire Falls” from his new disc, Spies Lies and Burning Eyes.
